Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if tutoring is the right choice for my child?
Tutoring is not just for struggling students. We view ourselves as academic coaches that support your student through all of the challenges they may face in school, such as confidence building, skill- enrichment, and organizational skills. We also offer enrichment services to help your student get ahead. Still not sure? Contact us today and we'll be happy to chat with you, no strings attached.
Do I have to sign up for a set amount of sessions?
No. We do not lock you into any kind of contract. We allow you to schedule as you need, but we recommend that you choose a set weekly schedule once you get started.
How long are tutoring sessions?
Most sessions are one hour (60 minutes) long. We highly suggest 90 minute sessions for SAT & ACT prep although we do what works best for you! Longer sessions are also available.
Where are sessions held?
We come to you! Our tutors will travel to your home (or location nearby such as the library or a coffee shop); wherever you are, whenever you need us.
Can a specific tutor be requested?
Yes, definitely! We will do our best to accommodate your specific requests, however, some tutors may have a full schedule at the time of your request. If this is the case, we are happy to put you on that tutorβs wait list.
Can more than one student attend a session?
Yes. Group sessions work well for SAT & ACT prep and if students are in the same academic class in school. In some cases, students may share a session even if they have different teachers. We also offer group final review sessions for many subjects.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Please allow 24 hours for cancellation. If this cancellation policy is not adhered to, you will be charged for the full amount of the session. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information.
What safety measures are you taking for COVID-19?
If students opt to come into the office to take a practice exam or meet with a tutor, fabric or surgical masks (not buffs, neck tubes, or bandanas) must be worn the entire time students are on the premises. If students have a mask with a vent in it such as an N95, this vent must be covered with an additional mask.
We are following the CDCβs guidelines by allowing only 25% capacity for groups, sanitizing our space between uses, providing handwashing stations and hand sanitizer, limiting our space use to one group per day, and having HEPA air filters running 24 hours per day in our office spaces. Students are welcome to exit our space at any time and go outside to take a break from wearing their masks.
