Lidia
/Lidia developed a passion for teaching as a peer tutor during her high school years where she discovered the joy of helping others overcome the obstacles to learning and achieve their academic goals. She went on to graduate as Valedictorian and attend Rice University in Houston TX, an experience that was only possible through the generous financial aid offered by the University. While at Rice, she pursued many interests including art, psychology, mental health, religious studies, education, and math. She also designed parts of the yearbook and participated in the Marching Owl Band. After four busy years, she graduated with a BA in Religious Studies with a License to teach 8-12 grade math.
All of her experience and education reinforced her drive to support the wellness and academic success of students. She spent 3 years teaching high school math, finding the root of each student's misconceptions and striving to nurture healthy habits and positive interpersonal and emotional regulation skills in her students along the way. She recently relocated to Seattle, where she is excited to work with students one-on-one to provide individualized support to help each student reach their goals and have a positive experience with learning. Outside of education, Lidia spends her time creating portraits, painting, crocheting, volunteering at local galleries, and hiking as much as possible!
