While employed as a tutor in college, Mat discovered a natural ability to help others understand mathematical concepts. After graduating with a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Nevada, Reno, Mat moved to Seattle to begin what became a 34-year long career with The Boeing Company. While at Boeing, Mat worked on military and commercial aircraft programs, focusing on jet engine control systems. During this time, he continued tutoring family, friends, and as a community volunteer. Since retiring in 2018, Mat has tutored dozens of students in math, algebra, and geometry at all levels. In his leisure time, Mat enjoys spending time boating around Seattle and camping with his wife in their RV throughout the US.
